First images reveal a sharply inverted bow and large aft deck helipad which suggest polar capacities. Exterior design comes from Norwegian studio Salt Ship Design and renderings indicate she will be painted midnight blue.
The steel and aluminium yacht features a total interior volume of more than 6,500GT and is expected to offer accommodation for up to 20 guests split across ten cabins.
In the past, Moran also revealed that Project Icecap will be powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system and will feature state-of-the-art energy saving, power storage, heating and cooling systems.
Renderings of the yacht were first revealed in 2018, shortly after the sale was finalised.
Other key features include an aft-deck infinity pool, a fold-out superyacht beach club, an upper-deck helipad and three fixed terraces built into the stacked forward superstructure.
Project Icecap joins five other superyachts measuring over 100 metres under construction at Lürssen, including the soon-to-be-launched Project Opera and the recently spotted Project Alibaba. Last spotted in May 2021, Project Opera is currently getting ready to roll out of the construction shed in Bremen.
Once delivered, Project Icecap will become of the world’s largest superyachts, sitting somewhere around number 48 on the leaderboard.
